The beat is a DMV type beat and everything including the doubling of vocals are all Go-Go influences and Go-Go is a DC area genre.
I have to say that your comment about his drumming while it is true that it's great playing, in one sense really you missed the point that his right foot is playing the bassline along with his left hand, no less impressive than it would've been if he was playing something totally different actually but I think most of the pieces were that way? Also, it would probably be nice if you could see the lyrics in their entirety rather than covering up the last couple of the words in your formatting.
you kinda look like frank ocean (from a certain angle (ion kno))
"Because there are no others" Holy fuck !! I always thought it was "Because then I'm above it"!
love this shiz brah
You seriously have to stop saying project. Haha. It's an album.
Lucky the dog 🐶😊
Goodness gracious, I look forward to you listening to Kid A when you think this is crazy 😂
LOVE PORTER ROBINSON!!!!
you need to react to Good & Evil
I gotta say, the chorus from "Tourniquet" - FANTASTIC song - reminds me so much of something one might hear from a Linkin Park song Also, the lead singer's name is Benjamin Burnley. And not only is he the band's lead singer, main songwriter, and founder, he is also the band's rhythm guitarist. So he's the one doing those SICK guitar riffs
Our boy Justin Vernon worked on this project
You should react to an album called “Nascent” by Alexander Panos. It’s one of the most beautiful albums that have made contact to my ears.
Context for Blossom/is this connected to the mother song, it's inspired by his girlfriend Rika whose name means "pear blossom" He made the song while thinking about what it would be like to lose someone. It's interesting how he's made a song in the past about someone never finding that person for them & now a song about someone that was able to find that someone for them & has to eventually say goodbye possibly really soon.
Agnes was one of my best friend Kaylani's favorite songs, Kaylani passed away earlier this year and i haven't been able to listen to it until now ❤ Thank you
I wish i could hear Ok Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, In Rainbows and A Moon Shaped Pool all for the first time again.
Pigs is amazing, blows my mind every time
This is for me one of those pieces of art which truly makes you appreciate the beauty in this world, truly high art.
Beautiful album, really enjoyed your reaction and commentary! I appreciate you letting the songs play all the way through without cutting it up, it allows us to follow along and become immersed in the album along with you
I had no idea it was time to listen to this album again, but it was really what I needed and I'm glad I got to see you experience it for the first time :)
you were doing great till you said "invested in the project"
They put their heart and soul into this shit. I wish I could go back to these days
All noises you hear are Tom’s Guitar, Brad’s drums, Tim’s bass and Zack’s vocals.
Lol 😂 project?? It's an album with songs. That simple.
Welcome to the world's greatest record. Oh how I Iove to be part of this gang of Radiohead fans on UA-cam who flock over every time we have go chance to see new fan fall in love ❤️
DnB is really meant to be listened to live, in person. I got the chance to see them perform in NZ recently and they absolutely killed it. I recommend checking out their Boiler Room set if you haven't seen it yet.
One huge difference in your musical philosophy to mine, is I don't like to read the lyrics as I'm listening to a song for the first time. I actually think that limits my imagination and the focus on the sonic aspects. Don't try to "make sense" of a song the first time you hear it. Just let it wash over you, so it leaves its impression as an article of sound...then....if you want to carefully study the lyrics and the meaning, go for it, but that way you have a boundless communion the first time with the sound itself.
not the guy in your live chat just posting misinformation the whole time
React to his new album sunburn. It sounds much more completed and fletched out
You missed a lot from ok computer to in rainbows so I recommend you listen to their big transition album called “KID A” it is incredible that it is right next to ok computer. I recommend you read up on why the band went that direction. Very interesting…
I like this and I liked how you did full tracks without getting shut down. I want to believe Radiohead made sure the label isn't doing that.
is this.. Yep still my fav album of all time!🖤 Also seeing them live supporting Architects is my best live show experience ever 😍
when I think of it.. it goes hand in hand with Heavener by Invent Animate :P
Spotify lyrics so messed up lmao
The rabbit hole is deep with this band. You see the basement sessions of this album. You would be amazed how brilliant it is.
Faust Arp has some serious Revolver / white album era Beatles vibe
My guy called let down romantic, its literally about how thom feels like he is a let down, like he is hystarical and useless. its one of there saddest songs just based on lyrics. the vibe not as sad, but the lyrics very sadl
22:10 I think the wording you’re looking for is ‘Nihilism’.
One of the best album ever.... Faust arp seems to be highly influenced by Nick Drake !
Emotional, captivating, atmospheric. I think you put it perfectly. I get lost in La Dispute vocals and instrumentals. Lyrical poetry at its finest, in my opinion. Agree about the vocals. At first it is unexpected, incongruous and jarring. But the more you listen, get into the album, the themes, the concept, etc the more perfect it becomes and almost harmonious it becomes. I couldn't imagine La Dispute with anyone else's voice but Jordan's.
Would absolutely love to hear to do a full album reaction for Hail the Sun - Wake. It's got similarly incredible instrumentals, emotional vocals and lyrics, dynamism, but with a high pitch vocalist who is also the drummer.
I wish to hear this for the first time again, you’re so lucky!
This was a great reaction man
trust me, do react to cub by wunderhorse - you will not be disappointed
I absolutely adore this album
Of nothing has a section thats from [redacted] from matriphagy that kungan was mumbling in it
Im 36 years old. My 1st experience with RH was Ok computer when I was like 15 when we all used to still have Diskmans and CD's lol, I was obsessed. Later on I've heard pablo honey and bends, and the following ones. I've heard the most I could about them. 2024, my fav album of them is this one. I think this is like their Dark Side of The moon.
Some trivia: - According to Thom Yorke, the lyrics were based on "that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking, 'I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something else' ... It's similar to OK Computer in a way. It's much more terrifying." - Unlike Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows is not an angry or political album. It's about mortality and the fact any of us can die at any given moment. - My theory for 15 Step is that the title is a reference to the plant Antiaris toxicaria, the poison of which is so deadly a victim can only take seven steps uphill and eight downhill before dying. What's 7+8? 15 Steps. - The band recorded the cheers of music school students for 15 Step. They wanted the kids to clap but the unconventional 5/4 time signature was too hard for the students to follow. - Bodysnatchers utilizes a technique known as "modal mixture", where notes and chords from different modes (sets of notes) that share the same root are used. The verses are in D Mixolydian (the Major scale with a flattened seventh), while the bridge is in D minor. - Nude was worked on for around a decade, starting during the OK Computer sessions. It was originally called "Big Ideas" by fans, as it was unnamed for many years. The final version was built atop the bassline written by Colin Greenwood. The intro is the outro reversed. - Weird Fishes / Arpeggi was originally just called "Arpeggi" due to the arpeggiated guitar line that can be heard through the song (clever bastards). - On All I Need, the chaotic noise wall, imitating the white noise created by a band playing loudly in a room (which would be impossible in a studio), was achieved by having a string section play every note in the scale, blanketing the frequencies. - In Reckoner, background vocals can be heard at 2:49 singing "In Rainbows", which happens to be 61.8% of the runtime; the golden ratio. The line "because we separate like ripples on a blank shore" is the center of the album; everything leads up to and away from it, much as waves on a beach do. - On House of Cards, Jonny used a coin as a guitar pick to imitate the sound of a string instrument. - Jigsaw Falling Into Place was inspired by the chaos inspired Thom saw when he used to go out on the weekend in Oxford. - Videotape is tricking you; the true downbeat is syncopated. The piano is playing half a beat before the downbeat. Listen to the 2006 live performance where this trick is much more pronounced.
I used to fall asleep to house of cards in middle school. Beautiful track
Weird Fishes is probably the most Radiohead of all the Radiohead songs
As much as they are different, I still feel Chester’s spirit when I listen to this album. *I’m literally crying my eyes out right now.*
